EV-A71 has been reported to bind to several different receptors, including scavenger receptor class B member 2 (SCARB2) [10], P-selectin glycoprotein ligand-1 (PSGL-1, a molecule primarily expressed on blood cells) [11], and heparan sulfate glycosaminoglycans [12]; virus interactions with annexin II [13], vimentin [14], and nucleolin [15] have also been reported to promote infection, although their importance is less clear. Here, SELPLG is linked to infection.
