In CLL, the NF-κB signaling pathway has been shown to be constitutively active,17 resulting in downstream overexpression of antiapoptotic BCL-2 family members.18, 19 BCL-2 and BCL-2 family members have been shown to be upregulated in CLL and are also shown to be associated with an unfavorable prognosis20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27 and the connection between BCL-2 and NF-κB has been reported for various hematological malignancies including CLL.17, 28. Here, BCL2 is linked to B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
