LIPG and coronary artery disorder: Several genetic variants have been recognized in the LIPG gene.4 Among these, 584C/T is the most frequently studied variant that can alter the amino acid threonine, converting into isoleucine at codon 111.12,13 Some studies supported the idea that the 584C/T variant was inversely correlated with serum HDL-C levels14,15 but in other studies this association was not found.11,16 So far, the correlation between 584C/T variant and the risk of CAD and HDL-C level has not been established in Fars province.
