A c-MYC GCN gain (c-MYC GCN ≥ 4.0) in the primary cancer was not significantly associated with poor survival (P = 0.499; S1 Fig), which might be because all of cohort 2 consisted of advanced CRC patients with synchronous and metachronous metastasis and cohort 2 was largely comprised of stage IV CRC (98 cases; 64.5%). The gene discussed is MYC; the disease is cancer.
