Interestingly, the distal mouse 15B3.1-C region, amplified only in p62 transgenics and corresponding to the human distal chromosome 8q23.1-23.3, is the second most frequently amplified region in human HCC: aCGH results from 848 HCC samples show an amplification in ~45% of cases (www.progenetix.net). This evidence concerns the gene IGF2BP2 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
