Our data has shown that pretreatment of carrageenan mice either with rhuGSN or with diclofenac sodium reduced the TNF-α and IL-6 levels in plasma as compared to the mice treated with the placebo thus, indicating the anti-inflammatory activity of gelsolin, These results are in confirmation with earlier findings where gelsolin treatment down regulated these pro-inflammatory cytokines in sepsis, burn and inflammation of brain [24–25].
