HSD17B2 and tuberculosis: For example: the PCK1 gene has previously been shown to be associated with lipid metabolism in animals [38–41]; the HSD17B2 gene has been identified as a key regulator of steroid hormone metabolism [42–46]; the EGR4 gene is a candidate gene for reproductivity in animal ovary and testis [47–50]; and the RAB33A gene may affect the risk of developing certain disease, such as tuberculosis [51, 52].
