Similarly, inoculation of mouse lung carcinoma cells (CRL), into the flanks of LyzM-Cre:Hmox1flfl showed slower growth of syngeneic tumor transplants as compared to CRL tumors in Hmox1flfl mice (% of tumor growth at day 12: Hmox1flfl: 489.5 ± 109.6, LyzM-Cre:Hmox1flfl: 300.6 ± 111.11, p = 0.06, n = 3 mice per group with 2–3 tumors per mouse), suggesting the importance of HO-1 in tumor microenvironment. This evidence concerns the gene HMOX1 and neoplasm.
