Six independent common signals reach genome-wide significance (logistic regression P<1 × 10−8) for association with PCOS in the meta-analysis of discovery and follow-up studies (Table 1, Fig. 1 and Supplementary Fig. 1); four are novel signals and two represent refinements of previously reported signals at the YAP1 and THADA loci. This evidence concerns the gene THADA and polycystic ovary syndrome.
