OLFM4 and cancer: We decided to generate monoclonal antibodies against selected synthetic peptides, representing unique parts of the OLFM4 protein, to verify their ability to detect OLFM4 both in neutrophils and in epithelial cells, and to develop an ELISA for OLFM4 that would allow quantification of OLFM4 in subcellular fractions of neutrophils and in plasma, and to test, whether levels in plasma reflect malignancies of the gastrointestinal tract.
