Indeed, by analyzing 31 B-CLL patients, we observed a consistent variability in the regulatory role of molecules belonging to the rho-module of integrin activation, and this allowed grouping the patients in two categories, characterized by not conserved roles of signaling molecules regulating LFA-1 activation by the CXC chemokine CXCL12 [13]. Here, CXCL12 is linked to B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
