With the exception of anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK)–positive anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL), the incidence of PTCL is increasing and has more than tripled since 1992 (Petrich, Helenowski, Galamaga, & Nabhan, 2012), which is attributed to improvements in the accuracy of diagnosis and to an aging population (Lymphoma Research Foundation, 2013). Here, ALK is linked to mature T-cell and NK-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
