Although Gαi-, Gαq-, and Gα12-family of proteins have been shown to transduce mitogenic as well as motogenic signals from LPARs in ovarian cancer cells [4, 35, 36], a comparative analysis to identify the Gα-subunit involved in stimulating ovarian cancer growth in vivo has not been undertaken until now. The gene discussed is GNAQ; the disease is ovarian carcinoma.
