The MUFA-rich diet improved insulin sensitivity, and lowered insulinresistance (homoeostasis model assessment-insulin resistance) to a greater extent comparedwith the high-SFA and the high-carbohydrate diets (2·32 (sd 0·3), 2·74 (sd0·4), 2·52 (sd 0·4), respectively, P<0·01). This evidence concerns the gene INS and Insulin resistance.
