In contrast, Ad.NRP1 ΔC infection caused a significant inhibition of cell migration induced by the PDGF-BB gradient (Figure 5B), indicating a role for the NRP1 cytoplasmic domain in downstream signalling mediating the chemotactic response of these cells, consistent with our previous findings in human VSMC.11 VSMC migration, as assessed by scratch assay, was not affected by the overexpression of the Ad.NRP1 WT or ΔC constructs (data not shown).
