ERBB2 and triple-negative breast carcinoma: In order of increasingly aggressive behavior and worse prognosis, the subtypes are: Luminal A (ER+ and/or PR+, Her2−), Luminal B (ER+ and/or PR+, Her2+), and basal-like (ER−, PR−, Her2−), this last subtype also commonly referred to as “triple negative” breast cancer or TNBC (Morris and Mitchell 2008; Amend et al. 2006).
