Our model offers a novel role for active Rac1 in modulating the Wnt signaling pathway and provides an alternative explanation for the often-reported links between Rac1 expression and Wnt in relation to colorectal cancer (Fritz et al., 1999; Gómez del Pulgar et al., 2005; Polakis, 2012) and colorectal carcinoma cell lines including Lovo, SW480, SW620, SW116 and HT-29 (Zhao et al., 2009). The gene discussed is RAC1; the disease is colorectal cancer.
