TLR2 and inflammatory bowel disease: Although no other polymorphisms have been associated to illness in dogs until date, some studies have reported differential expression of some TLRs related to inflammatory or infectious diseases, such as TLR2 in IBD [12], TLRs 2, 4, 5 and 9 in chronic enteropathies in German Shepherd [13, 14]; TLR4 in osteoarthritis [15] and in infected canine endometrium [16]; TLRs 1-4, 6-10 in sino-nasal aspergillosis and idiopathic lymphoplasmacytic rhinitis [17]; and TLR2 and TLR9 in Leishmania infected dogs [18, 19].
