Conditional knockout of c-Abl inhibits the allergen-induced airway remodeling in an animal model of asthma (Cleary et al. 2013). Moreover, treatment with the c-Abl inhibitor imatinib also attenuated airway thickening in a chronic animal model of asthma (Rhee et al. 2011). Here, ABL1 is linked to asthma.
