We further examined gene signatures with a prognostic CRC marker potential and by utilizing an integrated analysis approaches, we have identified eight gene candidates, including RPN2, HMGB1, AARS, IGFBP3, STAT1, HYOU1, NQO1 and PEA15. Among this list, six out of eight genes have been previously implicated in deregulation of gene expression and associated with the prognosis of CRC and other cancer types [40–43]. Here, PEA15 is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
