Using in vivo and in vitro experiments González et al. (2012) suggested that MyD88, TLR2, TLR4, and dectin-1 do not play a significant role in the recognition of P. brasiliensis yeast cells, and these findings are in contrast with our studies that demonstrates the important function of these molecules in PCM (Loures et al., 2009, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015). The gene discussed is TLR4; the disease is paracoccidioidomycosis.
