Since Ndn was implicated as a germline metastasis susceptibility gene through an eQTL mapping approach in tumors derived from a mouse model of mammary tumorigenesis, we hypothesized that: a) the expression of human NDN in breast cancer is influenced by similar patterns of germline variation; and b) common variants in the human NDN gene are associated with markers of disease aggressiveness and clinical outcome in breast cancer. This evidence concerns the gene NDN and breast carcinoma.
