Despite not reaching independent significance, homozygosity for centromeric motifs of KIR haplotype A (CA01), which contains KIR2DL3 (P = 0.041, OR 2.74, 95% CI 1.04–7.20) were associated with treatment response in univariate analysis in HCV G1 infection and the CB01 haplotype (which contains KIR2DL2) was closely associated with an absence of SVR in G2/3 infection (P = 0.051, OR 0.33, 95% CI 0.11–1.01) (Table S2). This evidence concerns the gene KIR2DL3 and infection.
