BRCA2 and brain neoplasm: Indeed, our patient’s germline BRCA2 6174delT was only on one allele, with the other BRCA2 allele remaining wildtype, whereas FANCD1 Fanconi anemia patients have biallelic deleterious germline mutations in BRCA2. Additionally, the anti-BRCA2-reactive band on western blotting of the patient’s brain tumor-derived cells suggests that the brain had at least one intact BRCA2 gene.
