BRCA2 and Fanconi anemia: This, together with involvement in medulloblastoma of genes that function in DNA stability and repair (44–48) and the critical role BRCA2 plays in neurogenesis and brain development (49, 50), renders it all the more interesting that this is the first report of a medulloblastoma associated with a heterozygous (non-Fanconi anemia) deleterious BRCA2 germline mutation.
