t-test between HF FA and CTRL groups, both without significant atherosclerotic lesions, showed significant differential expression in glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase, desmin, prelamin, glutathione peroxidase 1, and apolipoproteins A-I and A-IV, which was attributed to events induced by different diets: an atherogenic diet-dependent modulation of lipid and glucose metabolism-associated proteins and diet induction of free radicals modulating factors related to oxidative stress. The gene discussed is GPX1; the disease is hydrops fetalis.
