Interestingly, in other publicly available glioma datasets including pediatric high-grade gliomas [21], DIPGs [22] and ependymomas [23], such correlations with MDM2 expression do not exist, with very few genes passing the same false discovery rate criteria (FDR < 0.001) although this might be partially explained by PAs being very homogeneous entities whereas other tumor types are mixtures of multiple subgroups (Supplementary Figure 2a–2c). This evidence concerns the gene MDM2 and central nervous system cancer.
