Previously, it has been reported that GOLPH3 is amplified at the 5p13 region, and high expression of GOLPH3 has been suggested to be a predictor of poor prognosis in several types of cancer, including breast cancer [11, 16], renal cell carcinoma [13], and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma [20, 21]. This evidence concerns the gene GOLPH3 and hereditary clear cell renal cell carcinoma.
