LEPR and familial hypercholesterolemia: Similarly, we found that for polymorphism 668 A/G of the LEPR gene, the G allele carriers had 2 times higher risk of total cholesterol levels ≥200 mg/dL (OR = 2.1, 95 % CI 1.15–3.8; P = 0.008, data not shown), but when the analysis was performed by genotypes, we found that the AG + GG carriers had a high risk of hypercholesterolemia (OR = 9.4, 95 % CI 2.1–41.5; P = 0.003, Table 4).
