CETP and Guillain-Barre syndrome: Interestingly, samples from the MS subjects did not show any change in their ability to transfer either cholesterol esters or triacylglycerides mediated by CETP nor was any change in PLTP activity seen in plasma samples from patients with Guillain Barré Syndrome with active demyelination, suggesting that the increased lipid transfer activity seen in the plasma of MS subjects was not linked to myelin debris accumulation.
