In the multivariate analysis, being previously treated for tuberculosis (adjusted HR [aHR] 3.23, 95% CI 1.68 to 6.24), low albumin concentrations (aHR 0.74 per increase of 1 g/dL, 95% CI 0.58 to 0.95), and low CD4+ lymphocyte concentrations (Figure 2) were independently associated with increased mortality. This evidence concerns the gene ALB and tuberculosis.
