Melis et al. [9] showed a positive correlation between serum IL-23 levels and disease activity measured by CRP, ESR, and the number of swollen joints in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), but they did not find such a correlation in 52 SpA patients (the group consisted of PsA and non-PsA spondyloarthritis patients). This evidence concerns the gene IL37 and rheumatoid arthritis.
