Of note, beside an additive negative impact in patients with unfavorable cytogenetic or secondary AML, CD200 overexpression is associated with a worse prognosis also in patients with biological markers considered favorable, such as mutated NPM, Flt3 wild type, negativity of CD34 and CD56 expression and, probably, CBF AML. This evidence concerns the gene NCAM1 and acute myeloid leukemia.
