It has been known that intra-strand lesions, the primary type of DNA damage caused by CDDP are repaired by the nucleotide excision repair (NER) pathway and exquisite sensitivity to CDDP is observed in testicular cancer, which often presents with low expression of NER proteins, such as XPA and ERCC1 [45–47]. The gene discussed is NR1H2; the disease is testicular cancer.
