CDKN2A and chronic pancreatitis: The analysis obtained by us displayed that CDKN2A hypermethylaion in chronic pancreatitis is higher than those of normal pancreatogram and lower than those of pancreatic carcinoma21, suggesting a specific role of CDKN4A in the development of malignant pancreactic diseases, although the difference of CDKN2A methylation frequency between chronic pancreatitis patients and controls in the present study did not reach statistical significance.
