A recent meta-analysis of the incidence and coincidence of mutations in aNSCLC reported that three genes – tumour protein p53 (TP53), epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and v-Ki-ras2 Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogenes homolog (KRAS) – were commonly mutated in NSCLC of adenocarcinoma (ADC) histology [7], one of the most common histological subtypes of NSCLC [2, 8]. The gene discussed is KRAS; the disease is adenocarcinoma.
