To determine if expression of any one Pglyrp is affected by deficiencies in the other Pglyrp genes we used real time qRT PCR on total RNA extracted from whole eyes to measure expression of Pglyrp1-4 in WT and each of the Pglyrp-2-4 null mouse eyes before and after infection with P. aeruginosa. Pglyrp-1 expression was constitutively high in WT and the Pglyrp- 2–4 null mice; after infection its levels increased in all genotypes without reaching statistical significance. This evidence concerns the gene PGLYRP1 and infection.
