The lack of hypomethylation in B cells was especially remarkable because they were the only cell type showing decreased expression of DNMT1 and DNMT3A. No reduction of DNMT3A levels has been previously described in RA FLS or in SLE T cells [13, 32–34], which are the two cell types that have been studied. This evidence concerns the gene DNMT3A and systemic lupus erythematosus.
