The lack of hypomethylation in B cells was especially remarkable because they were the only cell type showing decreased expression of DNMT1 and DNMT3A. No reduction of DNMT3A levels has been previously described in RA FLS or in SLE T cells [13, 32–34], which are the two cell types that have been studied. The gene discussed is DNMT3A; the disease is rheumatoid arthritis.
