To establish a causality link between the positive effects of Cav-1 expression in prostate cancer on VEGF-A, on the one hand, and functional in vitro assays indicating increased lymphangiogenesis, on the other hand, we tested whether VEGF-A antibody could neutralize the effect of Cav-1 expression on the pro-lymphangiogenic effects of the conditioned media of PCa cells. The gene discussed is CAV1; the disease is prostate carcinoma.
