In order to evaluate more precisely the implication of IRE1α in these distinct outcomes, we examined in this work the effects of single amino-acid substitutions in IRE1α catalytic domains on glioblastoma development.To this end, one mutant was designed to invalidate IRE1α kinase activity (K599A) whereas two others (Y892A and K907A) targeted IRE1α RNase domain. The gene discussed is ERN1; the disease is glioblastoma.
