Little staining was observed in control tissue, except occasionally in alveolar macrophages; however, prevalent double staining was observed in SSc skin (Fig. 4, CD68 and chemokine receptors; Fig. 5, HSP47 and chemokine receptors) and lung tissue (Fig. 6, HSP47 and chemokine receptors). The gene discussed is SERPINH1; the disease is systemic sclerosis.
