To explore whether SIRT3 could inhibit Akt phosphorylation at Ser473 by blocking ROS, we used antioxidant N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) to suppress the high ROS level in SIRT3 knockdown cancer cells (Figure 6C & 6D) and measured the p-Akt(Ser473) level concurrently.
