In the context of viral infection, we show that the PI3K inhibitor LY294002 blocked the Rapalog-induced activation of eIF4E and the enhancement of CHIKV (Fig 6F and 6G), suggesting that mTOR inhibition increases eIF4E phosphorylation and subsequently the CHIKV infection through a PI3K-dependent and MnK-mediated mechanism. This evidence concerns the gene MTOR and viral infectious disease.
