Known risk factors for CKD among HIV-positive patients are black race [10], older age, CD4 count <200 cells/mm3, HIV RNA levels >4,000 copies/ml, family history of renal disease, clinical progression to AIDS, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and co-infection with hepatitis B (HBV) or Hepatitis C (HCV) [4]. Here, CD4 is linked to hypertensive disorder.
