Accordingly, overexpression of NDRG2 by lentivirus infection in colorectal cancer cell lines (Figure 1A) inhibited aerobic glycolysis, as indicated by decreased glucose consumption and lactate production in Caco-2, HT-29 and HCT116 cells (Figure 1B), decreased extracellular acidification rate (ECAR) and increased oxygen consumption rate (OCR) in HCT116 cells (Supplementary Figure S2).
