The AKT1 AA haplotype for both rs1130233 and rs2494732 is reported to confer an elevated risk of nasopharyngeal carcinoma [12]; the haplotype containing variant alleles of rs1130214 and rs3803300 polymorphisms significantly increases susceptibility to oral squamous cell carcinoma [13]. This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
