Anthroquinolol derivatives being structurally similar to the above-mentioned anthracenoid, isolated fromAntrodia camphorata, an endemic fungus found in Taiwan, have very recently been shown to block Ras and Ras-related GTP-binding protein activation in human lung cancer (A549 and H838), liver cancer (HepG2 and Hep3B), and leukemia (K562 and THP-1) cell lines by direct binding to FTase and to GGTase I170. The gene discussed is RAB10; the disease is lung cancer.
