This is the first study addressing cancer risk associated with PSCA rs2294008 polymorphism to date, although a number of meta-analyses have investigated the predisposition effects of PSCA rs2294008 polymorphism on gastric cancer [6,060 cases and 4,824 controls, 10,717 cases and 9,028 controls, 10,836 cases and 9,235 controls in the study conducted by Wang et al., Zhang et al. (Asian Pac J Cancer Prev), Zhang et al. (Exp Ther Med), respectively] [44–46]. The gene discussed is PSCA; the disease is cancer.
