Interestingly, while previous research has identified epigenetic silencing of CEBPD by promoter hypermethylation in leukemia and breast, liver, and cervical carcinomas in which CEBPD is considered to have tumor suppressive functions [8, 10, 22], in our current work, we noticed a low frequency of CEBPD promoter methylation in UBUC samples and cells, suggesting cancer type-specific expression of CEBPD. The gene discussed is CEBPD; the disease is neoplasm.
