The ANO1 or TMEM16A has previously been reported to be overexpressed in many cancers including oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST), head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), prostate cancer, breast cancer and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) as well as colorectal cancer cells [27, 30, 32, 33, 41–43]. This evidence concerns the gene ANO1 and breast carcinoma.
