In the bivariate analysis, CVD was significantly associated with age older than 50 years (PR = 1.4; 95% CI 1.1–1.8; p = 0.002), metabolic syndrome (PR = 1.2; 95% CI 1.0–1.5; p = 0.029), CRP levels (PR = 1.0; 95% CI 1.0-1.1; p = 0.015), effective blood flow less than or equal to 300 mL/min (PR = 1.2; 95% CI 1.1–1.3; p < 0.001), severe anemia (hemoglobin lesser than 8 g/dL) [16] (PR = 1.2; 95% CI 1.1–1.4; p < 0.001) and absence of mild anemia (hemoglobin lesser than 11 g/dL or greater than 11.9 g/dL in females or 12.9 g/dL in males) [16] (PR = 1.6; 95% CI 1.0–2.3; p = 0.016). This evidence concerns the gene CRP and anemia.
